We are pleased to announce the first event of the Sawa Guelph Cultural Program, organized by Nuwa Arts and Cultural Production in collaboration with The Arab Women’s Society of Guelph and The Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition.

The screening and discussion of "Solitary 2", in the presence of the film director Almohannad Alnasser and the film’s main character, Syrian human rights activist Aseel Al Nasser.

"Solitary 2" is a powerful and moving story that takes us into the dark world of Assad’s prisons. Through Aseel Al Nasser’s firsthand experience, we witness the silence of the prison walls, the fear of interrogations, and the pain of torture in an honest dialogue between her and her brother. Forty-five days of detention turned into an unending story—one that recounts what she saw, what she felt, and how, in the midst of darkness, she was granted a new life.
